Via Student-tutoring (and the Tutoring activity or Tutor-toiminta) senior students make our School a better more friendly environment for all new students. Tutors help to get familiar with the University and provide soft landings and friendly atmospheres both in and outside the campuses. Tutors are specially active in the first months of studies and all throughout the tutoring year offer companionship, keep a good spirit among the freshmen, and support networking with other students and student organizations (each student ought to have also a teacher-tutor - ask from your Study coordinator).
Tutors will offer their help even when you don't need it... But in any case, don't hesitate to take contact: find out who is your Tutor from the lists below. You can use the tutor-taik
aalto.fi common mailing list to contact all the tutors. The Tutoring coordination can be reached via tutorinfo-taikaalto.fi. You are welcome as well to drop by the AYY and TOKYO office with any questions you might have.
The Tutoring program of Aalto University School of Art and Design (TaiK) is coordinated and developed at the Student Services (OOP) in cooperation with the Aalto University Student Union AYY and the TOKYO association (TOKYO ry in Finnish).

Tuutorointi (Tutor-toiminta) on sitä, että vanhempi opiskelija auttaa uuden opiskelijan alkuun taikissa ja saa olon tuntumaan kotoisaksi. Jokaisella opiskelijalla on opettaja- ja opiskelijatuutori. Opettajatuutori auttaa sinua HOPSin ja kurssien kanssa, ja opiskelijatuutori vie taas sinut juhliin :)
Tutorointiohjelmaa koordinoi ja kehittää Opinto ja- Opiskelijapalvelut OOP. Myös TOKYO osallistuu tutorointiin liittyviin asioihin jonkin verran.

Find who is your own Tutor(s) and links to his/her personal Tutoring page
The tutors are available and ready to work individually and as team-members, with the common objective of assisting the new students and making them feel at home. The Tutors assist all new students in the Bachelor and Master levels i.e. including Degree as well as Non-degree and Exchange students. Each Tutor has published here in the TOKYOwiki a personal profile and a page for you. Here you can check the full Tutors Team members list to see all the tutors and the smaller teams classified per Academic program, and also the lists classified per Department – note the period of activity of each Tutor :

Aalto University
- Aalto University School of Art and Design is also known as TaiK (formerly University of Art and Design Helsinki). Note that there is in place a transition phase in which all the new Aalto University tools and e-environments are being developed and adjusted; this means that both 'old' and 'new' tools are in use.

In your life as a new Aalto U Student following these sites will be definitely a good thing:
Aalto-yliopiston ylioppilaskunta AYY is the Aalto University Student Union. Keep up to date with its web portal at www.ayy.fi/ .
TOKYO ry is TOKYO association. It collaborates with AYY, having been in the past the Student Union of the former University of Art and Design Helsinki (TaiK). TOKYOinfo.fi is TOKYO's new blog-like info channel, content of which interacts with this your TOKYOwiki.

The time for a celebration has come!
The Tutors of TaiK invite all new students to the Freshmen party "FUKSIAISET" to celebrate the beginning of the schoolyear, a new study place and an awesome spirit this Thursday starting at 18:00 in the 5th floor cafeteria Meccala.
Drinks, snacks, music, fun checkpoints, excellent company and party!
Be there straight at 18 o'clock so you won't miss any of the fun!
Official afterparty at Cafe Mascot from 21 onwards.
See you there and then, yeah!
