Paola Cabrera

My name is Paola Cabrera Viancha. I'm a Colombian designer studying and working in Finland since 2001. In 2006 I completed an MA degree in Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture (aka TaiK). Currently I am registered in Doctoral studies in the Department of Design.

In my research I'm interested, among others, in exploring correlations between product and strategic design approaches and practices & the fostering of cultural diversity and sustainability. I intend to do this via an examination of the problematics of design interventions in artisan communities and the craft sector. I also work as consultant in this field. I have collaborated in various projects with the Student Services aka OOP. Among others I worked in the development of the Check-lists Practical Guide (http://www.taik.fi/virtu/studentguide/). During the period 2008-2011 I worked in the planning, development and implementation of a Tutoring program for TaiK (see Tutoring program for Student-Tutors and staff and Tutor-toiminta for students); see also Tutoring coordination.
