My name is Paola Cabrera Viancha. I'm a Colombian designer studying and working in Finland since 2001. I completed an MA degree in TaiK in 2006. Currently I am registered in Doctoral studies in the Department of Design.

In my research I'm interested, among others, in exploring correlations between product and strategic design approaches and practices & the fostering of cultural diversity and sustainability. I intend to do this via an examination of the problematics of design interventions in artisan communities and the craft sector. I also work as consultant in this field. I have been collaborating in various projects with the Student Services aka OOP. Among others I have worked in the development of the Check-lists Practical Guide (go to http://www.taik.fi/virtu/studentguide/). For the period 2010-2011 I have been appointed as Tutoring coordinator; see also Tutor-toiminta (for students) and Tutoring program (for Student-Tutors and staff).
